It's been a while...

I can't believe it has been two and a half years since I graduated from college, but yet here comes 2011 around the corner and another graduating class at George Fox! Since graduating I have made a lot of art and gone through a few jobs too...the second part being good and bad. But today as I reflect on my post undergrad years I feel very good with the choices I've made. I got married in 2009 and have really gotten to invest in my art. My husband, Sherwood, is a ceramic artist and business man. The business part has so helpful! I had two watercolor shows this past summer. In July I showed at the Coffee Cat in Newberg, OR and September and October my watercolors were up at the Portland Campus of George Fox University in the main library. I have enjoyed the dialog I've gotten while creating my architecture watercolors....but now on to this underlying passion: mixed media fiber works.

When I was five I got my first sewing machine. It was love at first stitch. We have not been able to part since, at least fibers and I. Whether it has been crocheting, sewing clothes, or recently quilts, I feel so invested and excited about the process of fiber art. Its been a long time coming but I will now be up dating this blog in my journey of applying for graduate school and the current work that is exciting me!

Stay tuned!
